My AFI Top 100

In their Wizard of Oz episode, the podcast “Unspooled” suggested taking the AFI Top 100 and making your own list. I can’t resist making a list. They’re doing the updated 2007 list, so I worked from that. Having started working through this list in 1997, I have seen all 100 as of October 3, 2024.

Then I realized there’s a bunch of movies on 1997 list I really like, so I folded them in to make my own Top 117 list of all the movies I’ve seen on both lists combined. It’s formatted like it so because of where I copied the lists from, but it works nicely to make the distinction. ALL CAPS is from the 2007 list, and the ones not in caps are movies left off the 2007 list.

I’m sure I’ll adjust this list the more I think about it, but here goes.
